ASM Materials Camp
Are you a highly motivated learner with an aptitude for math and science?
Then spend a week learning about materials science and engineering
opportunities for careers in these fields. This residential camp utilizes
hands-on learning principles of applied math, physics and chemistry. You will
actively explore materials science and engineering principles through a
combination of mini-demonstrations, field trips and group projects. With the
help of experts, you will learn how to use state-of-the-art research
equipment..
Eligibility Participants must be rising high school juniors and seniors in Fall
2008. Acceptance to this camp is selective. Students must have basic knowledge
of algebra, chemistry and physics, and a strong interest in applied
science.

Maximum of two (2) letters of recommendation
Personal essay of 200 words or more that states why you want to be selected
to participate in Materials Camp. Please include your planned college major and
career plans

Students receive free housing, meals, tuition, entertainment and
knowledge.
Your only expense is travel to and from Rolla, and incidentals throughout the
week.
Cancellation Policy The university reserves the right to cancel its programs in the
event of insufficient registrations, instructor illness, severe weather, or
natural disaster. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified
immediately and all fees will be returned in full. Persons wishing to cancel
their registrations must do so seven days prior to the start of their chosen
program. Refunds will not be made after this date.
