Gain Valuable Insights into All Facets of a Modern Distribution System Engineers need a solid understanding of overall distribution operations. Cooper Power Systems’ three-day Fundamentals of Power Distribution Workshop provides insight into all aspects of a modern distribution system including the wide range of apparatus now available. Learning how the various areas of the distribution system affect each other, and how apparatus improves system efficiency, aids engineers as they problem-solve or plan future improvements.
In Three Days You Will Learn
Distribution system equipment
Capacitor and regulator application
System modeling
Harmonics
Load flow & voltage drop analysis
Reliability
Transformer connections
Power quality considerations
System protection coordination
Transient overvoltages and arrester application
Attendees Any engineer with less than two years experience in distribution system design and operation, or practicing engineers who want to expand their knowledge in the use of concepts and apparatus now available for the distribution system will benefit.
Instructors All instructors are degreed engineers with practical knowledge and industry experience in distribution overcurrent protection. Instructor teams are made up of experts from industry and the academic world. These individuals have many years of experience in power engineering applications or power engineering education. All instructors possess advanced degrees in electrical engineering with specialization in electric power systems.

Important Benefits Other workshops cannot provide the combination of experienced engineers, hands-on learning, technical information, a comprehensive reference manual and custom software.
Cooper Power Systems and Missouri University of Science & Technology offers the unique combination of real world, everyday problem-solving skills, and instructors with extensive hands-on field experience.
The comprehensive reference manual, specially prepared for the Fundamentals of Power Distribution Workshop, is a thorough, professional resource written by Cooper Power Systems’ engineers with practical information to help you accomplish your day-to-day objectives.
Travel and Lodging Participants are responsible for travel and living expenses and making their own reservations. Lunches and refreshments at breaks are included in the fee.
Why do people choose CPS/Missouri S&T workshops? Let the participants tell you … “An excellent review of the fundamentals. The harmonics and reliability sections were particularly useful.”
“This workshop is one of the best. The information is presented in a way to include class participation. The example problems were very practical and helpful.”
“As a T&D planning engineer it was very helpful to get an overview of the power system. Much of the subject matter made me aware of what areas I should pay attention to when planning.”
