Math 6602: Mathematical Foundation of Finite Element Methods

Implementation and theoretical analysis of the finite element method for the approximate solution of partial differential equations. Implementation of finite element methods for elliptic and parabolic equations. Theoretical analysis of convergence, accuracy, and stability of approximate solutions.

Prerequisites: : Any 4000 or higher level Mathematics course, or any instructor approved 4000 or higher level course from another discipline with a significant computational component.
